Made up of players from the Catalan region who largely ply their trade in the Spanish fourth division, Selección Catalana is the amateur branch of a senior Catalan side who at one time were coached by Johan Cruyff. Victory against their counterparts from Asturias took Toni Almendros's side into the Intermediary round where they qualified for this year's finals with a 100% record in a mini-tournament featuring sides from host nation Ukraine, Belgium and Slovenia. "Our team showed they were the best in qualification," said coach Toni Almendros. "We will be among the eight best teams in Europe and for that reason we can go and compete in the finals with our heads held high."

Coach: Toni Almendros
Last in charge in 2006, the former UD Viladecans and UD Cornellà boss is in his second spell as Selección Catalana coach.
