South Moravia forge on to amateur finals

South Moravia are dreaming of being the second Czech winners of the UEFA Regions' Cup after topping Group 3 in Serbia to make it to next summer's amateur finals.

South Moravia are a step closer to becoming the second Czech side to win the UEFA Regions' Cup after a decisive victory against Group 3 hosts Vojvodina put them into next summer's amateur finals.

After opening with a goalless draw against Swiss side Vaud, South Moravia stepped up the pace. The impressive Ondřej Ullmann scored their winner in a 2-1 victory against SW Bulgaria on matchday two and made his mark again, inbetween a strike for Lukáš Trávník and a Miloš Žoček penalty, as their Serbian hosts came unstuck on the final day. Vojvodina had hoped for better, with Srđan Vuković an impressive performer throughout the tournament, but failed to shine when it mattered most.

Central Moravia set the standard for Czech amateur players as they won the second edition of the world's top amateur tournament as hosts in 2001. They will now compete in the 2015 final tournament, to be staged next June by one of the eight teams who qualify.
