RULES OF THE GAME

“ULTIMATE DUO – UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE”

(“the Rules”)

ORGANISATION OF THE GAME

1. These Rules apply to the free prize draw competition, without obligation of purchase, named “Ultimate Duo – UEFA Champions League” (hereinafter: “the Game”).

The Game is run by the Union des Associations Européennes de Football (“UEFA”, “We”, “Our”), a Swiss association that is located at 46 route de Genève, 1260 Nyon 2, Switzerland.

2. The Game will take place between 18 December 2019 and 18 January 2020 and will be available on the website www.uefa.com/win (the "Website(s)").  UEFA reserve the right to alter or cancel the Game at its sole discretion.


CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

3. Entry and participation to the Game are free.

4. The Game is open to residents in any territory of UEFA’s fifty five (55) member national associations, the United States, China, India and Brazil, with the exception of UEFA members of staff and members of staff of companies involved in developing the Game.

5. Children under the age of eighteen (18) are not permitted to participate in the Game. UEFA will not knowingly allow children under the age of eighteen (18) to register to the Game.

6. Every application to participate in the Game must be made by a natural person (“Participant”, “You”, “Your”) by registering on the Website.

7. In order to access the Website and to register for the Game, You are required to fill in personal details. By registering, You represent and warrant that the information You include as part of the access process is accurate and not misleading. Access may be obtained and used only by individual, independent persons who are at least eighteen (18) years old or at least of legal age in their country of residence if such age exceeds eighteen (18).

8. In respect of Your access to and use of the Website and participation in the Game, You agree to: (i) provide true, accurate, current and complete information about Yourself; and (ii) maintain and promptly update Your personal data to keep it true, accurate, current and complete. If You provide, or UEFA has reasonable grounds to suspect that You have provided, any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, or UEFA otherwise reasonably considers that You have failed to comply with any provisions of these Terms, UEFA has the right to immediately suspend or terminate Your access and refuse You access to any and all current or future use of the UEFA Platforms (or any portion thereof).

9. When You enter and participate in the Game, You are bound to accept that you must participate in the Game in accordance with these Rules and the Terms and Conditions of the Website, available at http://www.uefa.com/termsconditions/index.html (“Website Terms and Conditions”).

MECHANICS OF THE GAME

10. To enter the Game You must visit the Website, select your favourite club and indicate the first and last name of a friend   who would make up your ultimate football duo.

11. By clicking on the “Submit/Enter me to Win” button, You confirm you have read and expressly accepted the conditions of the Website Terms and Conditions as well as these Rules to enter the draw and to attempt to win a prize.

12. The prizes shall comprise the items set out below:

(a) Two (2) tickets to a UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match, including travel and accommodation. There are 32 pairs of tickets to be separately won (a total of 64 tickets);
(b) A signed UEFA Champions League jersey. There are a total of thirty-two (32) jerseys to be separately won;
(c) Official UEFA Champions League merchandise. There are a total of 1,000 keyrings, 500 waterbottles, and 75 replica match balls to be separately won

13. The prizes shall be for the winners and their guests only.  The winners and their guests must be available to travel on the mentioned dates. Guests must be eighteen (18) years old or of legal age in their country of residence if such age exceeds eighteen (18).


SELECTION OF THE WINNERS

14. Winners of the Game will be selected at random from the entrants after the Game closes on 18 January 2020.

15. UEFA will notify each winner via email within 72 hours from the date of the winners’ selection. UEFA shall have no liability for a winner's failure to receive notices due to winners' spam, junk e-mail or other security settings or for winners' provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. If the selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within 48 hours from the time award notification was sent, or fails to timely return a completed and executed declaration and releases as required, any prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.

16. The designation of the winners will happen once their eligibility for the relevant prize has been verified. 

17. The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.


GENERAL

18. The winner and his/her guest shall have a passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond the date of travel. Any necessary visas, health and travel insurance or vaccinations are the responsibility of the winner and his/her guests.

19. Sale, transfer or exchange of any part of the prize package is strictly prohibited.  Any attempt to sell, transfer or exchange any prize will result in the prize being withdrawn by UEFA and the prize will be declared null and void.

20. UEFA will not be held responsible for the winners and/or guests not taking advantage of the prize due to health or any other reason.

21. Any prize is as stated in any messaging or promotions advertising the Game. No cash or other alternative will be offered and prizes are non-transferable.

22. For the avoidance of doubt, a Prize is supplied subject to the relevant third party service providers’ terms and conditions (e.g. in relation to flights, train travel, accommodation and match tickets). 

23. The payment of all costs and expenses involved in claiming a prize are the responsibility of the winner. Any and all applicable taxes or duties in relation to the prize are the responsibility of the winner.

24. With respect to tickets being offered as prizes, You acknowledge and agree that:

(a) such tickets may only be used by You and may not be sold/resold or offered for sale;
(b) ownership of all such tickets remains with UEFA and they may not be transferred or dealt with except as specifically permitted by the terms and conditions applicable thereto or as otherwise permitted by UEFA; and
(c) all such tickets are subject to and shall be used in accordance with the terms and conditions applicable thereto as well as any directions issued by UEFA.


LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY

25. Insofar as is permitted by law, UEFA and their agents and/or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or any participants or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of entering the Game or accepting a Prize except where it is caused by the negligence of UEFA, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

26. UEFA will not accept responsibility for entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind or proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the draw.

PRIVACY

27. Personal data supplied during the course of this Prize Draw will only be processed as set out in UEFA’s Privacy Notice at https://www.uefa.com/privacypolicy/index.html
APPLICABLE LAW AND JURISDICTION

28. These Rules and the relationship between You and UEFA shall be governed by the substantive laws of Switzerland. All disputes in connection with these Rules shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nyon, Switzerland.

  2. The Game will take place between 12pm CET on 25 November 2019 and 12pm CET on 9 January 2020 and will be available on the website [UEFA.com] (the "Website(s)").

MECHANICS OF THE GAME

10. To enter the Game and try his/her luck at winning, the Participant must:

  • visit the Website; and

  • create a personal account on UEFA.com by 12pm CEST on 7 January 2020, completing the compulsory fields of the entry form (i.e. email, password, date of birth, first name & last name).

11. By clicking on the “Submit” button, the Participant confirms his/her registration, confirms having read and expressly accepted the conditions of the Terms and Conditions as well as these Rules and becomes eligible to enter the draw and to attempt to win the prize described hereunder. UEFA reserves the right to suspend, cancel or modify the Game at any time and for any reason.

Prize

12. The prizes shall be for the winners and their guests only.  The winners and their guests must be available to travel on the mentioned dates. Guests must be eighteen (18) years old or of legal age in their country of residence if such age exceeds eighteen (18).

13. The Game is made up of the following prizes:

1x (one) main prize:

- two (2) invitations to the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League quarter-final draws on 20 March 2020 at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland

- two (2) tickets to a 2019/20 UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League quarter-final match of the winner’s choice;

- flights from the winner’s home city to Nyon, Switzerland and the city where the match is being played;

- transportation to and from the hotel in Nyon, Switzerland and to and from the match in the city where the match is being played;

- accommodation in Nyon Switzerland for the draw and in the city where the match is being played for the night of the match.

1x (one) runner-up prizes:

- two (2) tickets to a 2019/20 UEFA Europa League quarter-final match of the runner-up prize winner’s choice;

- flights from the winner’s home city to the city where the match is being played;

- transportation to and from the hotel and to and from the match in the city where the match is being played;

- accommodation in the city where the match is being played for the night of the match.

14. To the extent permissible by applicable laws, UEFA does not accept any responsibility or liability in relation to Participants’ participation in the Game and/or use or misuse of any prize awarded (including any use of the prizes by people who are unsuitable due to age or physical/mental conditions).

 Selection of the main prize winner and runner-up prize winners

15. On 9 January 2020 at 12pm CET, UEFA will select, at its sole discretion, one (1) main prize winner and one (1) runner-up prize winner.

16. The designation of the winner will happen once his/her eligibility for the prize has been verified. The winner will be notified immediately after being selected via email correspondence on the day of the prize draw.

17. The winner(s) will have forty eight (48) hours to respond via email in order to accept and claim his/her prize.  If no response is provided within forty eight (48) hours, a new winner will be selected.

18. The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

General

19. Sale, transfer or exchange of any part of the prize package is strictly prohibited.  Any attempt to sell, transfer or exchange any prize will result in the prize being withdrawn by UEFA and the prize will be declared null and void.

20. UEFA will not be held responsible for the winners and/or their guests not taking advantage of the prize due to health or any other reason.

21. Any prize is as stated in any messaging or promotions advertising such Game. No cash or other alternative will be offered and prizes are non-transferable.

24. The winner(s) and their guests shall comply with any and all UEFA’s instructions. UEFA reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to withdraw prize entitlement if any party fails to comply with the directions given by UEFA or the winner and/or guest act in a manner that is dangerous to themselves or to the public.

25. The winner(s) and their guests shall have a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of travel. Any necessary visas , health and travel insurance or vaccinations are the responsibility of the winner and his/her guests.

Privacy

26. By entering the Game, UEFA will use the personal data (as mentioned in paragraph 10 above) provided at the time of the creation of your personal account on UEFA.com.

27. The personal data is necessary to make and handle Your participation and/or to be able to award the prize. 

28. UEFA will transfer certain personal data of the winner to third party agency WMG MANAGEMENT EUROPE LIMITED, located 71-91 Aldwych, London WC2B 4HN, United Kingdom, appointed by UEFA for the purpose of organizing the Game and the prizes. 

29. The personal data gathered is only collected and processed by UEFA and /or the third parties for no longer than is necessary for handling Your participation /the above requirements, unless otherwise provided by law.

30. You understand and acknowledge that your personal data is being collected and processed in accordance with UEFA Privacy Policy. set out at http://www.uefa.com/privacypolicy.html.


Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
These Rules and the relationship between You and UEFA shall be governed by the substantive laws of Switzerland. All disputes in connection with these Rules shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nyon, Switzerland.
