Previous meetings
• The clubs have met eight times previously with Barcelona winning four and Dynamo three.

• Dynamo would be delighted with a repeat of their last result at the Camp Nou, a 4-0 triumph in the UEFA Champions League group stage on 5 November 1997. Andriy Shevchenko was the hero with a first-half hat-trick.

• Dynamo, who progressed to the quarter-finals that season, had beaten Barcelona 3-0 in Kiev a fortnight earlier.

• Barcelona's most recent victory against Dynamo came in the 1993/94 first round when they overturned a 3-1 first-leg deficit with a 4-1 home success through goals from Michael Laudrup, José Maria Bakero (2) and Ronald Koeman.

• Shevchenko was also in the Milan side that lost to Barcelona in the 2005/06 UEFA Champions League semi-final.

• Shovkovskiy was the Ukraine goalkeeper beaten four times by Spain in a 4-0 defeat in the countries' opening match at the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

• Barcelona forward Thierry Henry had mixed fortunes against Dynamo with former club Arsenal FC in the 2003/04 group stage. He was in the side beaten 2-1 in Kyiv, scoring Arsenal's goal, but also took part as the Gunners won the home return 1-0 to gain revenge.

• Zlatan Ibrahimović struck twice for FC Internazionale Milano when they overturned a two-goal deficit to earn a 4-2 win against Dynamo coach Valeri Gazzaev's former club PFC CSKA Moskva in the 2007/08 group stage – a result which eliminated CSKA.
