UEFA Champions League Group A leaders FC Bayern München take their perfect record and brilliant start to the season to an unbeaten SSC Napoli side eyeing "a historic result" in front of their home supporters.

Napoli
Coach Walter Mazzarri

Bayern München are a fantastic team and they have a lot of great players. In their last ten matches they have collected nine wins and a draw and they are really in form, but we have no fear, we are excited about this. If Napoli win, it would be a historic result for this team and for this city and we will do everything to give this satisfaction to our supporters.

Bayern are a team who are capable of of doing anything in possession. They have more than the usual level of skill and fitness, but they respect us. This is not so great, at the same time, because I can't hope to surprise them because they will not underestimate us for sure. Not least as Bayern have a lot of players used to playing in the Champions League, while this is the first season for us.

Weekend result
Saturday:
Napoli 1-2 Parma FC (Mascara 76; Gobbi 57, Modesto 82)
De Sanctis; Campagnaro, Cannavaro; Aronica (Mascara 66); Maggio, Inler (Lucarelli 85), Gargano, Dossena (Zúñiga 75); Hamšík, Lavezzi; Cavani

• Giuseppe Mascara scored his first goal of the season as Napoli suffered their first home defeat since a 2-1 loss to Udinese Calcio on 17 April.

Team news
Marco Donadel has a right thigh injury and Goran Pandev has not played since the 3-0 win at FC Internazionale Milano on 1 October.

Bayern
Coach Jupp Heynckes

We have started this Champions League campaign very well and tomorrow we want to keep playing good football. I know that we are facing the best Italian team at the moment. In fact, I'm very impressed by Napoli, because they do not play in a typically Italian way; they have excellent forwards and more than just a decent first XI. They can make progress in this competition.

Until now we haven't had too many problems, but that is down to us. We are well prepared and we have a perfect balance between attack and defence. But I'm lucky because I have a lot of fantastic players and anyone could have got the results I've got. We are a team who want to win the Champions League. We have a long way to go yet, but we can count on excellent players like Franck Ribéry and Bastian Schweinsteiger. Bastian, just now, is playing wonderfully, which is to his merit, but also that of the team.

Weekend result
Saturday: Bayern
4-0 Hertha BSC Berlin (Gomez 5, 69pen, Ribéry 7, Schweinsteiger 13)
Neuer; Boateng, Van Buyten, Badstuber, Lahm (Contento 78); Tymoshchuk, Schweinsteiger; Müller (Alaba 73), Kroos, Ribéry; Gomez (Olić 75)

• Mario Gomez made it 15 goals in 11 games for club and country this season. Bayern hold a five-point lead over VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach, the only side to have beaten them this season on 7 August.

Team news
Arjen Robben is out after groin sugery but Ribéry is back from a calf injury.

Match fact
Napoli are defending an impressive home record in Europe. Since returning to continental competition after 13 years in 2008, they are unbeaten in nine matches at the San Paolo and have not conceded a goal in the last six.
