FC København trailed twice, but clawed back the deficit on both occasions as they ran out 3-2 winners to seal a UEFA Champions League play-off spot.

FCK were going through on away goals as the match entered its latter stages, with César Santin's effort in the fifth minute of added time merely securing their progress. However, it looked decidedly shaky for the Danish champions earlier in the night after Jordi, and then Vadis Odjidja gave the hosts the advantage in the tie following a goalless first leg. Nicolai Jørgensen, and then Christián Bolaños levelled, before Santin broke away to send his side through.

Jordi gave Club Brugge the lead on the night, and in the tie, when he headed in a 24th-minute corner by Lior Refaelov. They could not hold on to their precious advantage, though, and just past the hour mark, Jørgensen picked up a rebound from a Bolaños shot to register a crucial away goal. They were level only five minutes, though, as Odjidja put the hosts back in front.

FCK were heading out, but with 12 minutes left, a piece of brilliance swung the balance their way yet again. Influential throughout, Bryan Oviedo found Bolaños who made no mistake. Club Brugge threw everything at their visitors, including goalkeeper Vladan Kujović, but with the custodian up for a corner at the death, the ball was cleared to Santin who had the easy task of securing his team's place in the play-off draw.
