FC Baník Ostrava have signed Jan Velkoborský to replace central defender René Bolf.
The FK Chmel Blšany man has been brought in to fill the gap in the Czech champions' defence left by Bolf's departure for French side AJ Auxerre. The 29-year-old Velkoborský, who has won two caps for his country, has signed a two-year deal with his new club.
Velkoborský spent the last two seasons in Germany where he was on loan with second division side Ahlen LR. However, this season he has the chance of playing UEFA Champions League football with Baník who join the competition in the third qualifying round.
