Brøndby take advantage

FC Dinamo Tbilisi 0-2 Brøndby IF Second-half strikes give Danish side victory against ten men.

Second-half strikes from Morten Skoubo and Johan Elmander gave Danish side Brøndby IF a precious 2-0 away win against ten-man FC Dinamo Tbilisi in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League second qualifying round tie in Georgia.

Amisulashvili off
Brøndby's task was made more straightforward by the dismissal of Dinamo defender Aleksandr Amisulashvili for a second bookable offence shortly before the interval and Michael Laudrup's side emerged from the dressing room ready to take advantage in the second half.

In-form Skoubo
Skoubo, who already has three goals to his name just two games into the Danish Superleague season, broke the deadlock on the hour with his fourth goal in seven days. Then Elmander found the net inside the final ten minutes to give the visitors a healthy advantage to take home for next week's second leg.

Friday draw
Before that match in eight days' time, the draw for the third qualifying round will be held in Nyon, Switzerland. Brøndby, who lost at that stage three years ago in search of their first group stage qualification since 1998/99, now look well placed to try again.
