Boruc feels strain of shoulder blow

Poland goalkeeper Artur Boruc may miss the start of Celtic FC's UEFA Champions League qualifying campaign after suffering a shoulder injury in a friendly.

Friendly campaign
The 27-year-old damaged his left shoulder in a match against English side Newcastle United FC and was replaced by Mark Brown for yesterday's 1-0 win against Parma FC. Brown is also set to deputise in next weekend's Scottish Premier League curtain raiser against Kilmarnock FC and assistant manager Tommy Burns revealed Boruc could be out of action for up to three weeks.

'A major player'
"Artur picked up the problem at Newcastle and at this stage he is looking at being out of action for two to three weeks," said Burns. "Celtic will do everything possible to get Artur back because he's a major player here, but we will also be careful because we don't want to make it worse." The Scottish champions start their UEFA Champions League campaign in the third qualifying round.
