Klimek comeback
The 28-year-old defensive midfielder has become the first Argentinian to sign for a Lithuanian club after impressing in Edinburgh. Lithuanian businessman Vladimir Romanov holds a significant stake in Hearts, FC MTZ-RIPO Minsk of Belarus and Kaunas, who have also brought Polish striker Arkadiusz Klimek back from the Scottish capital after he failed to make much of an impact.
Back and forth
Vigantas Zubavicius has earned a place in the Kaunas squad after a successful loan to A Lyga rivals FK Sūduva. Meanwhile, having already signed Bulgarian defender Yanko Valkanov from MTZ-RIPO, Kaunas have allowed Belarussian midfielder Oleg Strakhanovich to rejoin the Minsk side. Kaunas play FK Zeta in Montenegro in the first leg of their first qualifying round tie on Tuesday.
