Sporting leave out Stojković

Sporting Clube de Portugal coach Paulo Bento has excluded Serbia goalkeeper Vladimir Stojković from his 19-man party for Tuesday's Group F visit to AS Roma.

Late return
Bento chose not to include Stojković, who had featured in Sporting's first two fixtures in Group F, having also excluded him from the squad for this weekend's Portuguese League Cup match against CD Fátima. That decision came in response to the Serbia keeper's late return from international duty last week. Stojković, 24, missed training on Friday and was duly omitted from the 2-1 home first-leg loss to second-division Fátima 24 hours later.

Long-serving
His place is expected to go to Tiago, the Lisbon club's longest-serving player, who deputised against Fátima. The 32-year-old's only previous appearance for Sporting in the UEFA Champions League group stage came as a substitute against AS Monaco in a 3-2 reverse in November 1997. More recently, he appeared in both legs of the third qualifying round defeat by FC Internazionale Milano in August 2002.

Duo passed fit
While Stojković is absent, defender Anderson Polga and midfielder Simon Vukčević have both been declared fit for the Matchday 3 encounter at the Stadio Olimpico while Portuguese Under-19 international midfielder Adrien Silva is the new face in Bento's list.
