Substitute Patrik Jezek broke the hearts of Bohemian FC as his goal three minutes from time lifted FC Salzburg into the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.

Zagreb tie
The Austrian champions will now play Croatian counterparts NK Dinamo Zagreb in the next round but they were made to struggle to the end as they toiled in breaking down a dogged Bohemians side in front of 5,000 supporters in Dublin.

Defensive resistance
Bohs were in the driving seat for their home leg due to the away goal from the 1-1 draw in Austria a week ago, and the Irish club put on a superb defensive display with centre-backs Ken Oman and Brian Shelley imperious at the back. Christoph Leitgeb saw his shot fly just wide on 16 minutes while Somen Tchoyi and Milan Dudić also went close for the visitors, though Bohs had chances too with Jason Byrne causing panic midway through the second half.

Rossiter error
But a defensive slip by the home side late on proved decisive; Bohemians defender Mark Rossiter tried to play a back-pass only for Jezek to pounce on the under-hit ball and touch it past Brian Murphy, providing welcome relief for Huub Stevens and his charges.
