The UEFA Appeals Body today ruled on the appeal made by FC Bayern München relating to the three-match suspension imposed on Franck Ribéry by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body on 28 April, following his dismissal in the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg against Olympique Lyonnais in Munich on 21 April.

The Appeals Body has fully upheld the initial decision made by the body of first instance, the Control and Disciplinary Body, and has confirmed the three-match suspension of Ribéry in UEFA club competitions.

Having served one game of the ban, Bayern's semi-final second leg at Lyon on 27 April, the player will now miss the UEFA Champions League final on 22 May and the next UEFA club competition fixture for which he is eligible.

Given the outcome of the proceedings Bayern and Ribéry have the right to lodge an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
