Turkish champions Galatasaray AŞ have signed Portuguese Under-20 international winger Bruma from Sporting Clube de Portugal for a fee of €10m.

Bruma, 18, has put pen to paper on a five-year contract at Galatasaray. A trainee at Sporting's academy since the age of 12, the Guinea-Bissau-born player scored more than 80 goals for the Lisbon outfit in the various age categories. He made his senior Sporting debut in February and went on to make 13 Liga appearances last term, opening his top-flight account on his second start. His performances at this summer's FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey confirmed his burgeoning reputation.

"It's massive to play for Galatasaray," he said. "I will be wearing the same shirt as some big names. My aim is to help the team as much as I can and to develop as a player and as a person. We have a tough group in the Champions League but Galatasaray are a quality team. We should be challenging. [Coach] Fatih Terim is a well-known name in European football. He spoke very positively about me and hearing those words made me happy. It's very important for a player to feel his coach has faith in him."

Meanwhile, Galatasaray have extended the contracts of two existing players. Reserve goalkeeper Aykut Erçetin accepted a one-year extension, while winger Aydın Yılmaz inked a two-year deal with an option for a further 12 months. Aydın had been a free agent since his previous terms expired in May.

Galatasaray begin their UEFA Champions League group stage campaign with a home game against Real Madrid CF on 17 September.
