Jürgen Klopp, Dortmund coach
For us, it was perfect. The game started perfectly with an early goal. Then we had control – not 100%, but I would say 80%, with better chances and big chances. We missed them unfortunately, but in the second half, in a moment when we had to work really hard for a result, we got the next two goals and the game was over.

[Bringing on Adrián Ramos] was a good idea! We thought about starting Adrián but this morning my assistant coach said: 'Come on, let's start Ciro [Immobile].' It looked a good idea after three minutes, and after that I told Adrián it would be really cool if he could close the game out for us and that is what he did. Sometimes things happen like this – not often, but tonight it was OK. We can enjoy the moment.

Sebastian Kehl, Dortmund midfielder
It was a pretty good match and the result was absolutely deserved. We had a good 30 minutes in the first half, and the first chance was a goal, so that was a good start for us. We were cohesive throughout the match and it was a good performance.

We had a situation that was not so good before this game because in the last three games in the Bundesliga we had only taken one point. We were really focused on this match today and absolutely wanted to win it. I think we did some things better than in our last few games and that was the goal today.

Klopp: Dortmund win 'perfect'

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Dortmund forward
I don't think it was easy, because we had a few difficulties approaching half-time. It would have been good for us if we could have scored [a second goal] earlier; that would have made it easier. They made it difficult for us, but towards the end they were flagging; we maintained quite a fast pace and that's what made the difference.

I wasn't able to score, but others did and the most important thing is to win. I was somewhat unfortunate and lacked concentration during the first chance I had. That's what it was like today. I just hope the next match will be better. This has been a good match to motivate us and take a step forward. It was a good performance this evening.

It is difficult if you begin a game like that. It was our own fault. The spaces we left were too big. We let in a goal inside three or four minutes and it was always going to be a very difficult game. They got a lot of chances in the first half, but like I said, it was our own fault because we did not play football like we wanted to play.

But we played against a top team, at the top level in Europe. We had three good chances, and if you want to do something in the game, you have to score one or two goals, but we didn't do that.

Silvio Proto, Anderlecht goalkeeper
Everyone gave everything, but it was not enough. We saw the difference between the top level in Belgium and the top level in Europe. There is no arguing with the scoreline, but this game was part of the learning process at the highest level. What made it more difficult for us was that we had the worst start possible. To concede so early put the team in a tough situation. Now we need to try to get as many points as possible in our next game.

Olivier Deschacht, Anderlecht defender
We had chances to make it 1-1 but we could not do it. In the Champions League, you need to be clinical and we were not. The details did not go for us. I think you saw today that we have some weaknesses but also some strong points.

Besnik Hasi, Anderlecht coach
The differences between Anderlecht and Borussia Dortmund were quality, speed, fitness. Dortmund are playing every week at such a level. Let's not forget that we are a very young team and I think we can only learn and improve from this. When you concede a goal after three minutes it is difficult.

We still believed in it but the way Borussia Dortmund played was impressive. At the beginning of the second half we did really well, we pressed and took the control, but then they scored the second goal and it was difficult for us. With the third goal it was all over for us. The good thing is that we created some chances but we let Dortmund create too many of their own.

We know that Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal are at a much better level than us. We will have a very difficult game against Arsenal. They are a quality team, very quick, one of the top European teams. I believe the game with Galatasaray will be crucial for us.
