We were hurt by some of their breaks in the first half as we made a few mistakes. Monaco have great players, some great youngsters and are really well-organised. Anybody who thinks it's easy in the quarter-finals is wrong. They've got the best defence in the French league and they've only conceded four goals in the Champions League – that says it all.
We got ourselves into the game well as it progressed, playing with patience. We gave them nothing in the second half, just one chance from a corner and then a break from one of our corners, but we've got to work on this. It's a good result and we've got to go there to earn a semi-final berth because 1-0 is not enough. We know we're going to have to score there if we want to go through.
It was precarious at times and we've got to improve some defensive aspects and do better with the chances we create. I'm very happy with what we did tonight. It's a 1-0 win and now we face Lazio, who have won their last eight, on Saturday and we'll aim to get the points we need in the league.
Vidal's been playing pretty well recently. This was one of his best games this year, particularly defensively. He's always being judged on the goals he scores, and tonight he got one. He's going to be important for the rest of the season, but so are the others. We need fresh legs at this stage of the season and it seems to be overlooked a bit that we've got five or six players who have hardly had a break.
Leonardo Jardim, Monaco coach
Of course [we deserved more]. It was an even game. We dominated the first 20 minutes of the first half and the first 20 minutes of the second half. We had hoped to come away with a better result. It's going to be completely different in Monaco – we will give a different impression of ourselves in our home game to make it through.
We showed we're an organised, good team and we created real problems for Juventus. At this level, you've got to have a certain degree of effectiveness and I think we showed that. We created good chances going forward.
