Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first player to win the UEFA Champions League five times after Real Madrid's 3-1 defeat of Liverpool in Kyiv.

Last season he had joined Andrés Iniesta and Clarence Seedorf in becoming the third player to win the UEFA Champions League four times since the competion's inception in 1992/93. Now the 33-year-old Portugal striker has five UEFA Champions League winners' medals, having started his collection with Manchester United in 2008.

Raphaël Varane, Luka Modrić, Dani Carvajal, Isco, Karim Benzema, Marcelo, Gareth Bale and Sergio Ramos have also been part of Madrid's four final wins in the last five seasons while Toni Kroos won with Bayern in 2013 as well as the last three seasons.
