UCL Fantasy Football: The Scout squad

The 15-man squad for Matchday 4 is a mixture of players who have performed and those with a point to prove.

The Scout squad for Matchday 4 includes plenty of players who have delivered high points returns already this season, although there is also room for several picks who have something to prove this time round.

Goalkeepers

Highlights: Chelsea 3-0 Rennes

Edouard Mendy (€5.1m) is almost a mandatory pick, as the top-scoring keeper on the block with 19 points – thanks largely to three successive clean sheets for new club Chelsea. Mendy is back in France on Tuesday to face Rennes, the team he left for Chelsea in the summer; should he be beaten for the first time in this season's competition, André Onana (€5.0m), whose Ajax side are at home to Midtjylland, will come in.

Defenders

Another Chelsea representative figures among the five defenders, Ben Chilwell (€5.5m) having picked up 18 points to date – six on each of his three appearances. The other Group E game on Matchday 4 pits Krasnodar against Sevilla and, despite the Spanish side conceding twice in the home fixture, Diego Carlos (€5.1m) again makes the squad thanks to his 21 points, nine apiece in the first two matches. Dortmund's Thomas Meunier (€5.0m) has steadily increased his points return over the first three matchweeks – collecting four, seven and ten respectively – and a home game with former team Club Brugge offers the potential for more, particularly after a clean sheet and an assist in Belgium three weeks ago. José María Giménez (€4.9m) is the Atlético de Madrid selection for the visit of Lokomotiv Moskva, with the Spanish side chasing their first clean sheet of the current campaign, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka (€5.0m) should be part of the Manchester United team pursuing three points at home to İstanbul Başakşehir having been surprisingly beaten in Turkey.

Midfielders

Highlights: Man. City 3-0 Olympiacos

Normally home advantage is a key consideration when picking a Fantasy line-up, but three of the midfield choices for Matchday 4 face away games. It's little surprise that Manchester City's Ferran Torres (€7.6m) and Sérgio Oliveira (€6.5m) of Porto both make the grade; the former has scored in each of his first three European outings for his new club, who travel to Olympiacos, while Oliveira has registered a goal and a clean sheet in both of his last two games as his side go to France to tackle a Marseille team on a record-equalling 12-match losing streak in the UEFA Champions League. Zenit's Wílmar Barrios (€4.5m) is a useful budget pick because of his ball-recovery potential, while at the other end of the price scale is Atlético's João Félix (€9.0m), who has eight goals in his last eight outings for club and country including two in the Spaniards' previous home game in Group A. Last but by no means least is Diogo Jota (€7.5m), the first player to score on his first four top-flight home league appearances for Liverpool and who hit a hat-trick away to Atalanta – the Italian side now visit Anfield. Jota is the four-goal joint-top scorer in this season's UEFA Champions League.

Highlights: Club Brugge 0-3 Borussia Dortmund

Up front is another player who has scored in every game, Erling Braut Haaland (€11.0m). Not only does the Dortmund ace have three goals to his name in this season's competition, he has found the net in his last six Dortmund matches and bagged four at Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga on Saturday. Álvaro Morata (€9.0m) has scored twice in each of Juventus' two away games in Group G, including at Ferencváros last time out, with the Hungarian side now coming to Turin having shipped five at Barcelona in their only previous away fixture. Meanwhile, Ajax's Dušan Tadić (€9.0m) has eight goals in his last eight club outings, a run that incorporates strikes on Matchdays 2 and 3, the latter at Midtjylland who now visit Amsterdam.
