TUESDAY 27 APRIL

Five great Benzema goals

Karim Benzema (€10.4m) vs Chelsea

Although the Frenchman was not on the scoresheet in either of Real Madrid's quarter-final fixtures against Liverpool, he is in fact on track for one of his best ever goalscoring campaigns overall. In his last 11 starts in all competitions, Benzema has found the net 12 times and that makes him a compelling captaincy option on Matchday 11, even before considering the fact he has scored four UEFA Champions League semi-final goals in his career. Four of Benzema's five goals in this season's competition have come on home turf, and with Real Madrid playing host to Chelsea in Tuesday’s first leg, #UCLfantasy managers will surely be tempted to give him the armband.

Jorginho highlights and reaction

Jorginho (€6.2m) vs Real Madrid

The Chelsea midfielder isn’t generally a player that is considered for the captaincy but he has proven to be an excellent Fantasy asset this season and his numbers certainly go some way to backing this selection up. Firstly, there's the matter of his excellent ball recovery statistics; of the players still remaining in the competition, he's second only to Real Madrid's Casemiro in that department. Against Porto on Matchday 10, he made an impressive 12 recoveries – good enough for an additional four points – the second time he has managed that feat this season after also doing so against Rennes on Matchday 4. What will also attract him to #UCLfantasy managers is the fact he is on penalty duty, meaning there is always that chance that he'll have an opportunity to get on the scoresheet.

WEDNESDAY 28 APRIL

Mbappé becomes youngest to 25 Champions League goals

Kylian Mbappé (€11.2m) vs Manchester City

No surprises with this choice as the Paris striker is bound to be heavily captained on Matchday 11, especially if #UCLfantasy managers' Tuesday option fails to deliver. The French side's second-leg defeat to Bayern meant Mbappé failed to find the net for the first time in five UEFA Champions League games, so he will be hungry to get back on the goal trail in the semi-finals as he hunts down Erling Haaland in the list of top scorers in this season's competition. The France international striker sits on 59 Fantasy points – more than any other player still remaining – and has proven he is capable of dismantling any defence, so despite the sturdy nature of Manchester City's back line, Mbappé remains an obvious captain choice.

Foden's stunning City winner

Phil Foden (€7.3m) vs Paris

The Manchester City star has been at his prodigious best in recent weeks and his performances have given Josep Guardiola little choice but to select him in his strongest starting line-up. Foden made vital contributions against Dortmund in the quarter-finals as he scored crucial goals in both legs while he was also on the scoresheet in his side's most recent Premier League outing, against Aston Villa. Throughout the course of the UEFA Champions League campaign, the 20-year-old has amassed 55 Fantasy points, more than any of his team-mates, and a generous price of €7.3m means that #UCLfantasy managers won't have to break the bank to fit him into their squads. On current form, Foden rivals anyone on Matchday 11 when it comes to the captaincy.
