Having kicked off 2025/26 with a first-ever meeting, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur face a rapid reunion at the Parc des Princes on UEFA Champions League Matchday 5.

Last match

The teams met for the first time in the UEFA Super Cup at the Stadio Friuli in Udine on 13 August. Micky van de Ven (39) and Cristian Romero (48) gave UEFA Europa League winners Tottenham a two-goal cushion, but substitutes Kang-in Lee (85) and Gonçalo Ramos (90+4) pulled Paris level late on, Nuno Mendes converting the decisive kick in a subsequent 4-3 win on penalties for the French side.

Paris have lost only two of their last eight matches against English teams (W5 D1).

The French club have won four of their last six Champions League matches at home to Premier League visitors (D1 L1), beating Manchester City (4-2), Aston Villa (3-1) and Arsenal (2-1) last season, although they did also lose 0-1 against Liverpool.

Tottenham are unbeaten in their last three Champions League matches against French teams, drawing 0-0 at Monaco on Matchday 3.

That made it one defeat in Spurs' last seven European fixtures away to Ligue 1 sides (W1 D5).

Paris

This is Paris' 18th campaign in the Champions League proper. They have featured every season since 2012/13, reaching the knockout stages in all 13 of those most recent campaigns.

Fifteenth in last season's league phase (W4 D1 L3), Luis Enrique's side beat Brest (10-0 aggregate), Liverpool (1-1, 4-1 pens), Aston Villa (5-4) and Arsenal (3-1) to reach the showpiece in Munich, where their 5-0 win against Inter was the biggest final victory in European Cup history.

Tottenham

Spurs are making their seventh appearance in the Champions League proper and a sixth in ten seasons. Their last four participations have all stretched into the knockout rounds.

A team coached by Ange Postecoglou claimed Spurs' third UEFA Cup/Europa League in 2024/25. It was Tottenham's first trophy since 2008 and followed their UEFA Cup triumphs in 1972 and 1984.

Key stats

Wilson Odobert played for Paris youth academy between 2017 and 2022.
