Croatian international Dario Šimic has renewed his contract with Serie A leaders AC Milan until 2007.
New deal
The 28-year-old, whose previous contract had been due to expire in 2005, is currently in his second season with the Rossoneri since joining from neighbours Internazionale FC in 2002. He arrived at Inter in January 1999 from NK Dinamo Zagreb.
Opportunities limited
Switched from central defence to right-back by Carlo Ancelotti, Šimic played 45 matches in all competitions last season as Milan won the UEFA Champions League and the Coppa Italia. This season, however, he has found his opportunities limited by the arrival of Brazilian right-back Cafu, playing only eight Serie A matches.
