FC Barcelona and Manchester United FC have announced the dates of their media open days ahead of the UEFA Champions League final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 28 May.

Barcelona – for administrative purposes the home team in London – will hold their press day on Monday 23 May at the Camp Nou. The proceedings will start with an 18.00CET press conference with coach Josep Guardiola, before a fully open training session from 19.00, followed by interview opportunities with the first-team squad in a mixed zone area.

Media wishing to attend should register by emailing premsa@fcbarcelona.cat. The deadline is 18.00 on Wednesday 18 May. Accreditation can be collected from Gate 15 (Porta 15) at the stadium from 16.30 on Monday 23 May.

Photographers should note that while they will be able to cover the full training session and the opening minutes of the press conference, they will have no access to the mixed zone activities.

Manchester United will stage their media day on Tuesday 24 May at their Carrington training centre. The event will begin with an 09.30 press conference featuring manager Sir Alex Ferguson. A short training session will follow from 10.00 – with the first 15 minutes open to the media – after which the players will be available for interviews in a mixed zone.

Again, photographers will be excluded from the interview section of the day, yet will be free to cover the first few minutes of the news conference and the open part of training. Media interested in attending should email final@manutd.co.uk by 17.00 local time (18.00CET) on Thursday 19 May.

The two clubs have also confirmed details of their pre-match media programme at Wembley Stadium on Friday 27 May. Spanish champions Barcelona will have their press conference, involving Guardiola and two players, at 18.15 local time. This will be followed by a fully open training session between 19.00 and 20.00.

Manchester United's media conference will take place at 16.45 with Sir Alex and two players present. The English team will then participate in a fully open training session from 17.30 to 18.30. Press activities at Wembley are restricted to media accredited for the UEFA Champions League final. Simultaneous translation will be provided at the conferences.
