Olympique de Marseille will be without André Ayew for their forthcoming UEFA Champions League group stage match against Olympiacos FC after the forward reported back from international duty with a groin injury.

Ayew, who made his 50th Marseille appearance in their 3-2 defeat by LOSC Lille Métropole on 28 August, was injured playing for Ghana against Swaziland last Friday. He was forced to sit out their subsequent 1-0 friendly loss against Brazil in London – a game in which his brother and OM team-mate Jordan Ayew made his international debut.

The 21-year-old is likely to be sidelined for a further ten days with the injury, which will prevent him from featuring in Saturday's Ligue 1 encounter with Stade Rennais FC as well as Marseille's UEFA Champions League Group F opener at Olympiacos on 13 September.
