Tottenham Hotspur FC have loaned Croatia right-back Vedran Ćorluka to Bayer 04 Leverkusen for the remainder of the season.

The 25-year-old has made as many UEFA Europa League appearances – three – as Premier League ones this term and will be eager for first-team football as he prepares to represent Slaven Bilić's Croatian side at UEFA EURO 2012.

Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Völler said of the deal for the former NK Dinamo Zagreb and Manchester City FC player: "Ćorluka comes to Leverkusen with the experience of 52 caps and is what we need. He can play on the right wing but also as a central defender or left-back. We are happy to have been able to make this move happen."

Leverkusen will take on FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League round of 16, meeting the holders at the BayArena on 14 February and at Camp Nou on 7 March.
