Celtic FC have been dealt a blow with the news that captain Scott Brown and defender Mikael Lustig will miss the return leg of their UEFA Champions League last-16 tie against Juventus.

Midfielder Brown has been out of action since the 3-0 first-leg defeat in Glasgow two weeks ago and is still to discover whether he needs an operation for an ongoing abductor muscle problem. Full-back Lustig, meanwhile, has not recovered from a thigh strain sustained in the same game.

Manager Neil Lennon also confirmed Brown's unavailability for Scotland's forthcoming 2014 FIFA World qualifiers against Wales and Serbia. "We're still waiting to hear about Brown but he will miss the Juventus game and the Scotland double-header," said Lennon.

"Lustig is out for another two to three weeks but we're hoping that Charlie Mulgrew and Giorgos Samaras will be available. Samaras is a big-game player, he's ready to play now and has been training for a week."
