Fenerbahçe set up Rüstü reunion

Turkish international keeper Rüstü Reçber has returned to Fenerbahçe SK on a one-year loan from FC Barcelona.

Feeling honoured
Rüstü left Fenerbahçe to join Barcelona 15 months ago but failed to win a regular place at the Camp Nou. "I am very happy to be rejoining the club where I made my name," the 31-year-old said. "It will be an honour to wear the Fenerbahçe shirt again."

Twin assignments
His arrival will bolster the Turkish champions as they prepare for next month's UEFA Champions League campaign in Group D with Olympique Lyonnais, AC Sparta Praha and Manchester United FC. Fenerbahçe official Ali Yildirim said: "We needed him for the Champions League as well as the league."

Waiting game
However, Rüstü is unlikely to dislodge current No1 Volkan Demirel from Christoph Daum's lineup immediately. Rüstü, who has 94 international caps, won two Superleague titles and a Turkish Cup during his previous stay with Fenerbahçe from 1994-2003.
