O'Neill full of praise for Barça

Celtic FC manager Martin O'Neill hailed FC Barcelona as a "top-class side" after their 3-1 win in Glasgow.

Martin O'Neill, Celtic manager
"Barcelona are a fine side, one of the best in Europe and have designs on winning this competition and you have to give them credit. They started well and passed the ball in a way that befits a top-class side. But when we got the equaliser I thought we might even go on to win the match. The penalty miss gave us some impetus and the place came alive when Sutton scored. But they got their composure back just before they made it 2-1 and the third goal was of our own doing. Alan Thompson was one of Henrik's best friends and I think he was making things easy for him."

Frank Rijkaard, Barcelona coach
"I am very happy because this is a very difficult stadium to play in. I must congratulate my players. We started well and had control of the game but the match changed after it became 1-1. We had to work very hard to get control again but got it after the second goal. It was great the way Henrik did not celebrate when he scored. We all knew the situation with him and even on the bench tried to keep it a low key celebration."
