UEFA today announced that Milan-based commercial bank UniCredit will remain an official partner of the UEFA Champions League, also extending its sponsorship to become an official partner of the UEFA Europa League for the upcoming 2015–18 cycle. With the agreement, UniCredit is now a partner of all six UEFA club competitions, including the UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Women's Champions League, UEFA Futsal Cup finals and UEFA Youth League.

UniCredit is one of Europe's leading commercial banks, operating in 17 countries with more than 147,000 employees. Over 8,900 branches of the group are strategically spread across central and eastern Europe, and the new partnership enables UniCredit to further strengthen its position in eastern European markets.

Commenting on the extension of the partnership, Guy-Laurent Epstein, marketing director of UEFA Events SA, said: "UniCredit has been one of our sponsors for six years now and we are delighted that we were able to agree on the extension of this partnership. Its renewed and extended support and contribution, particularly in the promotion of our competitions across eastern Europe, is highly valued.

"The UEFA Champions League continues to be an invaluable platform for our sponsor partners, and with the addition of the UEFA Europa League we are extremely confident that UniCredit will obtain excellent opportunities to benefit from this partnership across its key markets."

The CEO of UniCredit, Frederico Ghizzoni said: "We are proud to announce that UniCredit will become the official bank of UEFA's club competitions. Over the past years, the partnership with UEFA has been a driving factor in achieving our set objectives. More than 300 UEFA Champions League-related campaigns initiated across our group show the appreciation of our markets and divisions for this sponsorship.

"Having effectively established our brand, the extended rights package allows us to shift our focus to supporting the daily business and empowering the local brands. It will enable us to reach even more football fans across Europe, granting us additional sales and relationship management opportunities."

UniCredit joins Heineken, Nissan and Sony as the fourth official partner of the UEFA Champions League for the 2015–18 cycle, alongside adidas, which is the official supplier partner. FedEx, as the main sponsor of the UEFA Europa League, and adidas as the official supplier partner of the competition, now welcomes UniCredit to the partner family of the UEFA Europa League.
