Barça surge clear of Madrid, City and Arsenal held

Neymar starred for Barcelona, Sevilla beat Real Madrid and both Manchester City and Arsenal drew as the UEFA Champions League group sides continued their domestic duties.

Sevilla 3-2 Real Madrid 
(Immobile 36, Banega 61, Llorente 74; Ramos 22, James Rodríguez 90+3)
Real Madrid will head into the Clásico on 21 November trailing Barcelona by three points after suffering their first defeat of the season. Sergio Ramos put the visitors ahead, but Sevilla roared back with a trio of goals to leave fit-again James Rodríguez's added-time effort a mere consolation.

Paris 5-0 Toulouse (Di María 6, Ibrahimović 18, 75, Lucas 66, Lavezzi 78)
Zlatan Ibrahimović's double took his league tally for the season to nine as Laurent Blanc's side won their seventh straight Ligue 1 game and maintained their ten-point cushion at the summit.

Olexandriya 2-3 Shakhtar (Zaporozhan 16pen, Ponomar 90+1; Dentinho 14, Gladkiy 43, Alex Teixeira 54)
The Ukrainian top-flight leaders racked up their eighth straight league victory with the help of Alex Teixeira's 19th goal in just 13 league games this season. However, the Brazilian forward was sent off in added time.

Gotene 0-5 Malmö (Swedish Cup, Rodić 1, 10, Berget 45, 86, Kroon 87)
The 2014 Swedish champions eased into the third round of the cup with a comfortable win at fifth-tier Gotene.

Manchester United 2-0 West Brom (Lingard 52, Juan Mata 90+1pen)
Jesse Lingard's opener – his maiden strike for the club – was United's first Premier League goal in 260 minutes, Juan Mata adding a late second as Louis van Gaal's team moved within two points of joint leaders Manchester City and Arsenal.

PSV Eindhoven 3-1 Utrecht (Moreno 2, Arias 58, De Jong 72; Ramselaar 49)
Luuk de Jong missed a second-half penalty but made amends to notch his 30th Eredivisie strike for the champions as PSV moved within two points of leaders Ajax.

Mainz 2-0 Wolfsburg (De Blasis 31, Malli 75)
Wolfsburg lost more ground on Bundesliga leaders Bayern as a result of their second defeat in the space of five days. The third-placed Wolves, beaten by PSV in midweek, lost Julian Draxler to a first-half red card.

Krasnodar 2-1 CSKA Moskva (Smolov 18,30; Dzagoev 28)
The Army Men lost in the Russian Premier League for the first time this season as Krasnodar ended their unbeaten run. CSKA lead the standings by six points.

Benfica 2-0 Boavista (Gonçalo Guedes 39, Carcela-González 88)
Benfica posted a second consecutive Liga triumph but were made to hard for the points, despite Gonçalo Guedes's first-half opener. The Eagles could only breathe more easily after a late second from substitute Mehdi Carcela-González as they moved up to third.

Atlético 1-0 Sporting Gijón (Griezmann 90+3)
Antoine Griezmann spared Los Colchoneros from a third straight draw in all competitions after heading his team to victory deep in added time. Atlético struggled to create chances all game but were left relieved when the Frenchman plundered his fifth Liga effort this season.

Rizespor 4-3 Galatasaray (Akyuz 19, 45, Kweuke 90+2, Kadah 90+5; Sneijder 4, Podolski 65, Olcan Adın 75)
Hamza Hamzaoğlu's side lost only their second league game this term – their first since late August – in dramatic fashion, the 88th-minute dismissal of Umut Bulut preceding two added-time goals for the hosts. Galatasaray last conceded four in the Turkish Super League in October last year.

Astana 1-0 Aktobe (Kabananga 87)
The first team from Kazakhstan to appear in the competition secured a second successive title with a home triumph on the final day. Junior Kabananga sealed the victory three minutes from time, moments after third-placed Aktobe lost Sergey Khizhnichenko to a red card. The Blue and Yellows finish the campaign a point above nearest challengers Kairat Almaty.

Aston Villa 0-0 Manchester City
The bottom-ranked side held the Premier League leaders to a goalless stalemate in former Lyon coach Rémi Garde's first game in charge at Villa Park. Fernando struck the woodwork in added time with a header as Manuel Pellegrini's men recorded a second successive 0-0 draw away from home in the league.

Empoli 1-3 Juventus (Maccarone 19; Mandžukić 32, Evra 38, Dybala 84)
The Italian champions came from behind to record a first win on the road in Serie A since 20 September to climb up to seventh place. Juve trail the league leaders by nine points.

Sevilla 3-2 Real Madrid (Immobile 36, Banega 61, Llorente 74; Ramos 22, James Rodríguez 90+3)
Sevilla have entered the top half of the Liga table for the first time this season after becoming the first club to slot three goals past Madrid since Getafe in May. The Andalusian outfit fell behind midway through the opening period but responded via Ciro Immobile's first goal for the club, before Éver Banega and Fernando Llorente left the Merengues reeling.

Mönchengladbach 0-0 Ingolstadt
Mönchengladbach's six-game winning streak under caretaker coach André Schubert came to an end as they were held by Bundesliga newcomers Ingolstadt. Granit Xhaka was dismissed for a second yellow card on 86 minutes.

Barcelona 3-0 Villarreal (Neymar 60, 85, Suárez 70pen)
The Liga frontrunners secured a comfortable victory in their last league tie before facing rivals Real Madrid in El Clásico. Neymar (nine goals in seven games) and Luis Suárez (eight in seven) have now scored Barcelona's last 17 league goals.

Roma 2-0 Lazio (Džeko 10pen, Gervinho 62)
The Giallorossi moved to within a point of the Serie A summit by defeating neighbours Lazio in the 179th Rome derby at the Stadio Olimpico. Gervinho sealed the victory with his sixth goal in seven league appearances.

Leverkusen 1-2 Köln (Hernández 33; Maroh 17,72)
The Werkself suffered a third consecutive reverse in all competitions as Köln claimed the Rhine derby spoils. Javier Hernández's tenth strike in his last 13 club outings was not enough to avoid defeat.

BATE Borisov 4-1 Slutsk (Rios 20, 54, Nikolić 31pen, Karnitski 80; Bobko 46) 
Already crowned Belarusian champions for the 12th time, BATE ended their league season 12 points clear of Dinamo Minsk – who inflicted their sole reverse in 26 outings.

Bayern München 4-0 Stuttgart (Robben 11, Douglas Costa 18, Lewandowski 37, Müller 40)
Holger Badstuber made his comeback 200 days after suffering a thigh injury as the defending champions extended their advantage at the top of the Bundesliga to eight points. Arjen Robben equalled Mario Gomez's tally for Bayern with his 113th goal for the leaders. Bayern's haul of 34 points from the first 12 games of the campaign is an all-time record.

Olympiacos 2-0 Iraklis (Milivojević 20, Ideye 61)
Marco Silva's unbeaten side continue to set a relentless pace in Greece, notching a goal in each half to restore their eight-point advantage over Panathinaikos with a tenth successive league victory.

Arsenal 1-1 Tottenham (Gibbs 77; Kane 32)
Arsenal appeared to be heading for a second loss of the week following their 5-1 defeat away to Bayern after Harry Kane was kept onside by Laurent Koscielny and put Tottenham in front. The visitors continued to dominate the north London derby after the break, but the Gunners dug deep and levelled via substitute Kieran Gibbs from a Mesut Özil cross.

Dinamo Zagreb 1-0 Istra 1961 (Fernandes 81)
After consecutive league defeats, second-placed Dinamo Zagreb returned to winning ways to revive their Croatian title hopes. The Modri trail leaders Rijeka by four points with 16 matches played apiece.

Porto 2-0 Setúbal (Aboubakar 70, Layún 84)
Unbeaten Porto, in second, stand five points behind Sporting with a game in hand after recording their sixth victory in nine Portuguese Liga outings. The Dragons have now kept a clean sheet in each of their last 16 home Liga fixtures.

Stoke 1-0 Chelsea (Arnautović 53)
Chelsea, in 16th, lost for the fourth time in five league outings and suffered a third successive Premier League defeat for the first time since 1999. Blues manager José Mourinho has now lost seven league games in a season for the first time in his career.

Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 Dniprodzerzhynsk (Yarmolenko 88,90+4)
Ukrainian title holders Dynamo remain level on points with Shakhtar at the top after Andriy Yarmolenko's dramatic late double secured an 11th victory in 13 league outings.

Maccabi Tel-Aviv 2-1 Maccabi Netanya (Zahavi 4pen, Ben Haim 69; Mishchenko 90)
The Yellows moved three points clear at the top of the Israeli Premier League after overcoming bottom-placed Maccabi Netanya, with Eran Zahavi converting a spot kick for the second time in the space of four days.

Lokomotiv Moskva 2-0 Zenit (Lombaerts 48og, Samedov 58)
André Villas-Boas's men lie ten points off the top in Russia after suffering their third reverse in 15 outings. A Nicolas Lombaerts own goal started the damage shortly after the break and Aleksandr Samedov made sure of the result for second-placed Lokomotiv.

Celta Vigo 1-5 Valencia (Fernandez 24; Paco Alcácer 13, 46, Parejo 45, 64, Mustafi 79)
Valencia brought Celta – third at the start of the day – back down to earth with a bump, Nuno Espírito Santo's side notching five goals in the Liga for the first time since April 2014.

Gent 1-3 Charleroi (Saief 28; Perbet 23,61, Nielsen 25og)
Hein Vanhaezebrouck's charges have been knocked off the Belgian First League summit after tasting defeat for the first time in the competition this term. They now trail new leaders Oostende by a point with 15 games played.

Lyon 3-0 St-Étienne (Lacazette 41, 59, 90+3)
The last ever derby at the Stade de Gerland ended in an emphatic victory for the hosts thanks to a hat-trick from Alexandre Lacazette. Left out of France's squad for the friendlies with Germany and England, the striker marked his 150th Ligue 1 outing with his second treble as a professional.
