Liga giants win, north London rivals draw

Real Madrid and Barcelona both triumphed on Sunday while it ended 1-1 between north London duo Arsenal and Tottenham and fierce Portuguese rivals Porto and Benfica.

Group A
Arsenal 1-1 Tottenham (Wimmer 42og; Kane 51p)
Arsenal missed the chance to take over at the Premier League summit after failing to get the better of their north London derby rivals. Kevin Wimmer headed into his own net from a Mesut Özil free-kick, but Harry Kane rescued Spurs from the penalty spot after Laurent Koscielny had impeded Mousa Dembélé.

Paris 4-0 Rennes (Fernandes 31og, Cavani 42, Rabiot 67, Verratti 79)
Paris proved too strong for Rennes on Sunday evening to move within three points of Ligue 1 leaders Nice. Adrien Rabiot grabbed his first goal of the season and Edinson Cavani notched his 11th in 11 league games – but injured himself as he scored and had to replaced before half-time.

Basel 2-1 Lausanne (Suchý 90+1, Janko 90+2; Margiotta 42)
The champions extended their unbeaten start to the Swiss season to 14 games in dramatic fashion. Marek Suchý cancelled out Francesco Margiotta's fine strike in added time, and Marc Janko slid in to snatch all three points barely a minute later.

Ludogorets 2-1 CSKA-Sofia (Wanderson 28, Moţi 62; Culma 90+2)
Ludogorets have won their last nine games in domestic competition, Wanderson's drive from distance and Cosmin Moţi's header from a corner enough to quell CSKA, who scored after being reduced to ten men.

Napoli 1-1 Lazio (Hamšík 52; Keita 54)
Marek Hamšík scored a superb opener, beating one man before skidding a shot through the legs of another, but Napoli were held to a second successive 1-1 draw, and have won only two of their last eight games in all competitions.

Beşiktaş 2-1 Trabzonspor (Rhodolfo 7, Cenk Tosun 17p; Yusuf Erdoğan 41)
The Black Eagles are unbeaten in 14 competitive matches this season (W8 D6) – 15 if you include the Turkish Super Cup – Rhodolfo's early header and Cenk's right-footed penalty providing the platform for their latest success.

Porto 1-1 Benfica (Diogo Jota 15; Lisandro López 90+2)
Defender Lisandro López mustered a last-gasp leveller to deny Porto bragging rights in the 235th Clássico. More importantly, his third Liga effort this term maintained Benfica's five-point lead in Portugal.

Dnipro 1-2 Dynamo Kyiv (Rotan 24; Besedin 21, Sydorchuk 69)
Serhiy Rebrov's charges are back up to second in Ukraine – on goal difference ahead of Zorya – after Serhiy Sydorchuk got the decider in another loss for struggling Dnipro.

Sevilla 1-2 Barcelona (Vitolo 15; Messi 43, Suárez 61)
Luis Enrique's side bounced back from their midweek defeat at Manchester City to stay two points shy of Madrid but needed to come back from behind to do it. Lionel Messi sparked the fightback with his 27th effort against Sevilla and set up Luis Suárez following a mazy run.

Man. City 1-1 Middlesbrough (Agüero 43; De Roon 90+1)
Sergio Agüero scored his 150th City goal from a brilliant Kevin De Bruyne ball, but the Argentinian's lingering memory may be of a miss towards the end which invited Middlesbrough to snatch an equaliser in added time.

Hertha 3-0 Mönchengladbach (Kalou 18 33 84)
André Schubert's men have now failed to score in five consecutive Bundesliga games – one shy of their worst-ever streak in 1996 – and had Christophe Kramer sent off in the 39th minute.

Celtic 3-0 Inverness (Sinclair 48, Griffiths 63, Rogic 83)
The Hoops are building up a daunting lead at the top of the Scottish table following a fifth successive league success. Scott Sinclair scored his ninth in the top flight this season, with Inverness reduced to ten men on 65 minutes.

Real Sociedad 2-0 Atlético (Vela 54p, Willian José 75p)
Two penalties in San Sebastian handed Diego Simeone's side a second successive away defeat in the Liga. They failed to score for only the third time in a competitive game this season.

Bayern 1-1 Hoffenheim (Zuber 34og; Demirbay 16)
Steven Zuber lunged in to put Douglas Costa's cross past his own goalkeeper to enable Bayern to level at home against ambitious Hoffenheim, but the a five-game winning run came to an end for Carlo Ancelotti's side.

Rostov 4-1 Arsenal Tula (Erokhin 26 90, Azmoun 36, Poloz 85; Burmistrov 8)
Rostov ended a run of five games without victory in all competitions with an ultimately comfortable comeback success. Ivan Daniliants's men have now edged six of their seven home league fixtures.

PSV 1-1 Twente (Moreno 62; Enes Ünal 53)
PSV remain unbeaten in six games in the Eredivisie (W3 D3) after defender Héctor Moreno prodded home a rebound after a Gastón Pereiro shot was saved. It was the Mexican's second PSV goal of the season.

Monaco 6-0 Nancy (Falcao 25 30p, Mbappé 65, Carrillo 87 90+2, Fabinho 90p)
Radamel Falcao struck twice for the second game in a row – an opportunistic header and a penalty – as Monaco racked up another big score, having won 7-0 at Metz earlier in the campaign. The Principality side are now unbeaten in five (W3 D2).

Arsenal 1-1 Tottenham (Wimmer 42og; Kane 51p)
Harry Kane scored on his return from seven weeks on the sidelines as Spurs grabbed a point in the north London derby. The England forward converted from the spot and had other chances to register as the visitors ended the game in charge, Christian Eriksen hitting the woodwork with a late free-kick.

Leverkusen 3-2 Darmstadt (Çalhanoğlu 32, Brandt 56, Aránguiz 69; Čolak 47, Vrančić 85)
The Werkself won a third game in a row, Hakan Çalhanoğlu's shot from outside the box, Julian Brandt's header and a powerful Charles Aránguiz drive doing the damage. They were Brandt and Aránguiz's first strikes of the season.

CSKA Moskva 2-2 Amkar (Ignashevich 18p, Tošić 45+1; Jikia 25, Kostyukov 27)
The Army Men dropped to fourth in Russia after being unable to hold on to an early lead, though they were grateful to Zoran Tošić for taking anything from the game at all.

Hamburg 2-5 Dortmund (Müller 55 81; Aubameyang 4 23 27 48, Dembélé 76)
Two tap-ins and two fine low finishes gave Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang the first four-goal haul of his senior career, taking his Bundesliga tally to 11 for the season. He also laid on Dortmund's fifth for Ousmane Dembélé.

Real Madrid 3-0 Leganés (Bale 38 45+1, Morata 76)
Gareth Bale celebrated penning a new deal with Madrid by grabbing a first-half double to consolidate his team's position at the top of the Liga standings, before Álvaro Morata later added to the deficit. Luka Modrić returned from a knee injury in the second half.

Sporting CP 3-0 Arouca (Dost 9 68, Campbell 55)
Bas Dost moved on to six goals in six Liga appearances – finding the net either side of a Joel Campbell effort – as the Lions moved alongside second-placed Porto on points. Adrien Silva also missed a penalty against opponents reduced to ten men for most of the second half.

Legia 2-0 Cracovia (Nikolić 43, Radović 90+2)
Legia followed up their remarkable draw with Real Madrid with a third straight league success, making breakthroughs at the end of both halves.

1-2 West Brom
(Slimani 55; Morrison 52, Phillips 72)
Despite flying high in the UEFA Champions League, Leicester continue to struggle on the domestic stage – this time suffering their first home loss in the Premier League since September last year.

København 4-0 SønderjyskE (Cornelius 18, Toutouh 25 66, Delaney 28)
Two goals from Youssef Toutouh helped FCK protect their six-point cushion at the head of the Danish standings.

Porto 1-1 Benfica (Diogo Jota 15; Lisandro López 90+2)
Porto were left frustrated after missing out on the opportunity to close within two points of their arch-rivals at the top of the Liga table. Diogo Jota put the Dragons in front with his fourth strike in six league outings, only for Lisandro López to level the scores late on.

Club Brugge 1-1 Genk (Vossen 85; Buffel 49)
Club Brugge required a late intervention from Jelle Vossen to avoid a fifth defeat in 14 league outings this term, though the result did them only marginal good as they slipped six points behind Belgian leaders Zulte Waregem.

Chievo 1-2 Juventus (Pellissier 66p; Mandžukić 53, Pjanić 75)
Miralem Pjanić secured victory for Italian pacesetters Juventus with an excellent late free-kick, on a day when goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon became just the fourth player in history to make 600 Serie A appearances.

Sevilla 1-2 Barcelona (Vitolo 15; Messi 43, Suárez 61)
Sevilla lost for the first time in eight games in all competitions despite taking an early lead through Vitolo, who pounced on an error by Sergi Roberto to threaten an eye-catching win. The hosts had opportunities to extend their lead, before a Lionel Messi-inspired Barcelona team eventually turned the game around.

Lyon 2-1 Bastia (Lacazette 37p, Bengtsson 86og; Crivelli 90+2)
Alexandre Lacazette took his Ligue 1 tally to ten as he converted his fifth penalty of the campaign. Pierre Bengtsson's own goal confirmed the result. Lyon have not lost in three in all competitions, matching their best run of a patchy season.

Split 0-1 Dinamo Zagreb (Stojanović 17)
A first goal of the season from Slovenian defender Petar Stojanović kept Dinamo within six points of Croatian top-flight frontrunners Rijeka.
