Paris prevail as Barcelona stall and Juve lose

Edinson Cavani was the main man once again as Paris beat Lyon, while a Lionel Messi goal could not deliver victory for Barcelona and Juventus lost more than just three points at Genoa.

Arsenal 3-1 Bournemouth (Alexis 12 90+1, Walcott 53; Wilson 23p)
Arsenal returned to winning ways after a run of three consecutive draws to keep up with the Premier League pacesetters, Alexis Sánchez scoring twice to see off a spirited Bournemouth side. Callum Wilson cancelled out the Chile forward's opener with a penalty, but Theo Walcott headed the Gunners back in front before Alexis ensured a 19th straight game unbeaten for the hosts.

Lyon 1-2 Paris (Valbuena 48; Cavani 30p 81)
Paris now lie just one point off the top of the Ligue 1 standings after Edinson Cavani once again delivered the points for the capital side. The Uruguay striker put the visitors ahead from the spot and headed in a late winner to take his league tally this term to 13 strikes from 12 outings. 

Sion 1-2 Basel (Karlen 74; Delgado 34, Janko 77)
Marc Janko struck the winner and was later sent off as Basel grabbed a fourth successive victory in the Swiss Super League to stay 15 points ahead of nearest pursuers Young Boys. 

Botev Plovdiv 1-3 Ludogorets Razgrad (João Paulo 9; Lukoki 3, Campanharo 70, Keșerü 79)
Georgi Dermendzhiev's side recorded their 11th successive league win to double their lead at the summit to six points after closest rivals Levski (who they face on Wednesday) lost.

Group B
Napoli 1-1 Sassuolo (Insigne 42; Defrel 82)
Lorenzo Insigne scored his third goal in three games but a late equaliser consigned the Partenopei to a fourth draw in five outings.

Beşiktaş 1-1 İstanbul BB (Marcelo 51; Cengiz Ünder 21)
Şenol Güneş's team remain two points off the lead after the meeting between Turkey's top two ended all square.

Benfica 3-0 Moreirense (Pizzi 32 58, Jiménez 88)
The Eagles made light work of Portuguese Liga strugglers Moreirense to keep themselves five point clear at the head of the table, midfielder Pizzi plundering a double as his side made it ten games unbeaten in all competitions.  

Volyn 1-4 Dynamo Kyiv (Didenko 6; Júnior Moraes 21 71 90+3, Yarmolenko 45)
Júnior Moraes struck his second hat-trick of the season as the Ukrainian side recovered from an early setback to record a third successive league win.

Group C
Real Sociedad 1-1 Barcelona (Willian José 53, Messi 59)
Lionel Messi notched up his 17th goal in his last 11 games in all competitions for Barcelona, but it was only enough to secure a point as the Blaugrana drew for the second weekend running in the Liga. The result leaves Luis Enrique's charges six points behind frontrunners Madrid.  

Burnley 1-2 Man. City (Marney 14; Agüero 37 60)
Sergio Agüero scored twice as City came from behind to claim back-to-back Premier League victories for the first time since September.

Borussia Mönchengladbach 1-1 Hoffenheim (Dahoud 25; Amiri 53)
Mahmoud Dahoud's first goal since April briefly had struggling Gladbach on course for a first win in six games, but the wait goes on as Hoffenheim hit back to preserve their unbeaten league campaign.

Aberdeen 0-3 Celtic (Rogic 16, Forrest 37, Dembélé 64p) (League Cup final)
Celtic celebrated their 100th major trophy after easing to the Scottish League Cup title against final rivals Aberdeen at Hampden Park. Tom Rogic curled in the opener and James Forrest used his pace to add the second before Moussa Dembélé capped a valuable win with his 17th goal for the club this season.

Osasuna 0-3 Atlético (Godín 36, Gameiro 37, Carrasco 90)
Atlético put a run of two straight Liga losses behind them to move up to fourth, though they were given an early scare when Jan Oblak saved a 14th-minute penalty from Robert Torres. Diego Godín then headed the visitors in front and Kevin Gameiro added to his UEFA Champions League goal in midweek, with Yannick Carrasco contributing some late gloss.

Bayern München 2-1 Leverkusen (Thiago Alcántara 30, Hummels 56; Çalhanoğlu 35)
Mats Hummels scored his first Bundesliga goal for Bayern as they beat their fellow UEFA Champions League hopefuls to move to within three points of shock league leaders Leipzig.

Rostov 2-0 Anji (Azmoun 41, Gatskan 79)
Fresh from their surprise win against Bayern, Rostov ended the week on a high with their seventh victory from eight Russian Premier Liga home fixtures, though they lost Aleksandr Gatskan to a red card shortly after his goal.

PSV Eindhoven 3-1 Den Haag (Pereiro 12p, Beugelsdijk og 50, Luuk de Jong 55; Beugelsdijk 57)
Den Haag's Tom Beugelsdijk scored at both ends in the space of eight second-half minutes as PSV halted a run of four games without a win.

Monaco 4-0 Marseille (Boschilia 23, Germain 29 39, Carrillo 90+1)
The Principality team rounded off a memorable week in sensational fashion against their noisy neighbours, going top of Ligue 1 ahead of Sunday's fixtures.

Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham (Pedro 45, Moses 51; Eriksen 11)
Having had their UEFA Champions League ambitions ended in midweek, Spurs suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season on Saturday to fall seven points adrift of the Blues at the summit.

Bayern München 2-1 Leverkusen (Thiago Alcántara 30, Hummels 56; Çalhanoğlu 35)
Leverkusen slipped to back-to-back defeats following two Bayern headers either side of Hakan Çalhanoğlu's sixth goal of the season for club and country.

CSKA Moskva 0-0 Rubin
The Army Men's title ambitions suffered another blow as a draw with mid-table Rubin left them 11 points adrift of city rivals Spartak at the summit.

Frankfurt 2-1 Dortmund (Huszti 46, Seferović 79; Aubameyang 77)
Ousmane Dembélé struck the bar in the dying seconds as Dortmund's nine-match unbeaten run came to an end despite Aubameyang hitting his sixth goal in four outings.

Real Madrid 2-1 Sporting Gijón (Ronaldo 5p 18; Carmona 35)
Cristiano Ronaldo gave the hosts a dream start with two early goals, but Carlos Carmona pulled one back before the break and, 13 minutes from time, Madrid conceded a penalty. Duje Čop fired it high and wide.

Boavista 0-1 Sporting CP (Dost 25)
Bas Dost's seventh league goal in eight outings was enough to earn the points for a Sporting side that ended with ten men following Rúben Semedo's fourth red card in 12 months.

Śląsk 0-4 Legia Warszawa (Radović 1, Filipe Gonçalves og 5, Prijovic 7 44)
Legia buried four goals for the second time this week, but this time without conceding the eight they allowed away to Dortmund on Tuesday, Aleksandar Prijovic again getting two of them.

Leicester City 2-2 Middlesbrough (Mahrez 34p, Slimani 90+4p; Negredo 13 71)
The Foxes twice came from behind to avoid a third league defeat on the trot, Islam Slimani snatching a point at the death.

Lyngby 0-1 København (Toutouh 13)
Youssef Toutouh's early goal earned the points as runaway leaders FCK extended their unbeaten start to their Superliga defence to 18 games.

Belenenses 0-0 Porto
Porto's problems in front of goal continued as lowly Belenenses held them to a third successive goalless draw.

Club Brugge 6-1 Mechelen (Vossen 39p 51 64 82, Izquierdo 49, Vanaken 79; Bjelica 50)
The first four-goal haul of Jelle Vossen's career provided the foundation for Club Brugge to score six for the first time since February.

Genoa 3-1 Juventus (Giovanni Simeone 3 13, Alex Sandro 29 o.g; Pjanić 82)
Diego Simeone's son Giovanni struck twice as the Bianconeri's four-match Serie A winning streak ended in Genoa. Miralem Pjanić added a late consolation, but it was a costly defeat for Juve as they also lost Dani Alves to a fractured fibula and Leonardo Bonucci to a thigh injury.

Sevilla 2-1 Valencia (Garay og 53, Pareja 75; El Haddadi 65)
Having gone nearly two years without a goal until midweek, Nicolás Pareja made it two in five days as Sevilla edged a victory.

Lyon 1-2 Paris (Valbuena 48; Cavani 30p 81)
Lyon's Ligue 1 title hopes suffered another blow as they succumbed to fellow UEFA Champions League hopefuls Paris despite an impressive second-half performance. Switching from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2, the hosts dominated after the break and equalised through Mathieu Valbuena – only to fall victim to a second Cavani effort late on. 

Osijek 0-2 Dinamo Zagreb (Ćorić 45, Soudani 48)
Dinamo remain six points behind Rijeka at the Croatian summit after keeping up their excellent domestic away form, 19-year-old Ante Ćorić setting up their eighth league win on the road this term before El Arabi Hilal Soudani grabbed his seventh championship goal in 14 appearances.
