Ajax and Barcelona closing on single-season records

Ajax and Barcelona can both match UEFA Champions League records if they make it to this season's final.

The final, if Ajax make it, will be the Dutch club's 19th UEFA Champions League game of 2018/19, securing them a share of a competition record whether they prevail in Madrid or not.

The Amsterdammers are also the 32-goal top scorers in this season's competition (13 in qualifying, 19 from the group stage onwards), and they have won more games than any other side in the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League: nine of their 16 matches (four in qualifying, five in the competition proper).

Barcelona, meanwhile, are on target to emulate their class of 2005/06 as well as the 1998/99 and 2007/08 Manchester United teams, all of whom finished a 13-game UEFA Champions League campaign unbeaten.

UEFA.com surveys the single-season and overall record holders for the main UEFA men's club competitions.
