Real Madrid concluded their Liga campaign with a draw at Villarreal having led 2-0 until the final 20 minutes. Luca Zidane made his first competitive start in goal for Madrid, but the 19-year-old had little to do in the first half as Gareth Bale – with his fifth goal in as many games – and Cristiano Ronaldo put the visitors in charge, the latter scoring his 26th in the league this season.

Zinédine Zidane's side looked to be on course to end their domestic season with a victory, only for Roger Martínez to revive Villarreal with 20 minutes left – the Colombian's first Liga goal. Five minutes from time, Samuel Castillejo levelled to leave Madrid on 76 points from their 38 games, two points behind second-placed neighbours Atlético Madrid, who conclude their own campaign tomorrow.
