Liverpool FC have confirmed that Milan Baroš will be out for up to a month after pulling his hamstring in the Czech Republic's defeat of F.Y.R. Macedonia on Wednesday.
Rehabilitation begins
The 23-year-old lasted just 17 minutes of the 2-0 FIFA World Cup qualifying victory and will now miss the conclusion of Liverpool's UEFA Champions League Group A campaign. A statement on the club's official website said: "Milan underwent a scan this afternoon. Unfortunately that has shown a pull in the hamstring of his left leg and he is likely to be out for between three and four weeks. Milan will begin his rehabilitation on Friday."
Hat-trick
In addition to missing a number of Premiership matches as eighth-placed Liverpool look to close in on the English leaders, Baroš will sit out Tuesday's Champions League fixture at AS Monaco FC and the visit of Olympiacos CFP on 8 December. The striker has scored ten goals this season, including a hat-trick against Crystal Palace FC last weekend, and was carrying the goalscoring burden with Djibril Cissé ruled out for the season.
