Relieved Ancelotti values experience

PSV were excellent and we're delighted to reach the final. It was an immense match, an exhausting encounter. Our tactics were to score early and obviously that goal didn't come. But we started to play our own game after they made it 2-0 and fortunately we found a little hole in the defence. We have a big squad of experienced players and they really helped us survive the battle. PSV played excellently and will have a squad that can challenge for European honours in the next few years. Liverpool will be a completely different game.

We were very, very close until the last minute and then we threw it all away. We've played some excellent football against one of the best sides in the world and provided a good advertisement for Dutch football. Unfortunately we had to make some changes to the team [Wilfred Bouma was forced off with the recurrence of a back injury] during the second half and we lost a little control with it. Milan showed us a lot of respect and we've demonstrated that we can achieve on the big stage and that's thanks to the ambition of the players. They earned some good experience out there and learned some of the basic laws of football. I'm only disappointed about the manner in which our Champions League run was ended.

We didn't play particularly well. In football anything is possible. We only had one chance and we scored and that was enough for us. PSV dominated the game for almost 90 minutes and that is not the way we need to play. Over the two semi-finals they played very well but they got knocked out.

We were a bit unlucky today. It was very disappointing. When you play two games better than AC Milan you deserve to win but they scored the away goal, which is the most important thing. We were the best team. It was a sucker punch.
