Pierre-Fanfan ready for Rangers

Rangers FC have acquired the services of Paris Saint-Germain FC centre-back and captain José Pierre-Fanfan.

Canada camp
The 29-year-old has a three-year contract and will join his new team-mates at their training camp in Canada this weekend. The former RC Lens and AS Monaco FC player captained PSG last season, making 33 appearances in Ligue 1 and playing all six games of their UEFA Champions League group stage campaign.

'New challenge'
Several sides were keen on acquiring the defender's services, including Rangers' rivals Celtic FC, but he was only interested in moving to Ibrox. "I am confident I can adapt to Scottish football very quickly," said Pierre-Fanfan. "This is a new challenge for me. I have won every major trophy in France and I want to do the same in Scotland."

More to come
Rangers will enter the Champions League in the third qualifying round next month. The club have already signed defenders Brahim Hemdani and Ian Murray, with chairman David Murray hinting more players will be on the way.
