Old knocks trouble Madrid pair

Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane may miss Real Madrid CF's UEFA Champions League tie against Olympique Lyonnais after aggravating old injuries.

Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane may miss Real Madrid CF's UEFA Champions League tie against Olympique Lyonnais on Wednesday after aggravating injuries in the 3-0 Primera División defeat against FC Barcelona.

Surprise return
Ronaldo had spent four weeks recuperating in Brazil after spraining his ankle in Madrid's 3-0 win at Club Atlético de Madrid on 15 October, but made a surprise return in Saturday's match. However, after playing the whole 90 minutes, team doctors may decide he should be rested for Wednesday's game.

Zidane injury
Zidane may be in a similar situation, having come back from a groin injury to play in the home defeat against Barça. Ronaldo, meanwhile, is yet to play a UEFA Champions League game this season having missed the opening two matchdays through suspension, and the next two through injury.
