Figo focused on Inter victory

FC Internazionale Milano may already have won the section, but Luís Figo is adamant that his side will not go easy on Rangers FC in their final Group H game.

Vital result
The result of the match at Ibrox is vital to the remaining clubs in the section, with Rangers, FC Artmedia and FC Porto all still capable of joining Inter in the last 16, and for the sake of the latter two clubs, Portuguese international Figo was determined that his side would not roll over and die in Glasgow.

Solemn promise
"Artmedia and Porto have nothing to worry about," he told uefa.com. "I can assure them we'll approach the game just as we have done all the other UEFA Champions League matches - to win. The fact that we are not under pressure to win may even help us play better, and give us a better chance of victory.

'We're professionals'
"We're professionals after all, and I don't know a single player or team that ever likes to lose," he added. "This is the UEFA Champions League after all, and with so many people watching us from all around the world, we will definitely give it all we've got."

Rangers run
Rangers are in the midst of a miserable run in Scotland, but Figo insisted that they were still a force to be reckoned with. "Rangers are just like an English team, they are very strong," Figo said. "They are the sort of side that can surprise you if you don't work very hard at the start of a match.

McLeish pressure
"I am aware that the Rangers manager [Alex McLeish] is under pressure for his job at the moment, but we cannot afford to show any sympathy" added Figo. "There is only one point between Artmedia and Rangers in the group so we owe it to everyone to give 120 per cent.

Hero time
"Managers are always under pressure to bring success even if they have won trophies for the club," continued Figo. "All I can say is that Alex McLeish will be a hero if Rangers beat us. In 90 minutes his life could change for the better."

Fringe players
With the pressure off now that Inter have qualified, coach Roberto Mancini may be tempted to give some of his fringe players a run-out against Rangers, but Figo said this would not hand the initiative to the home side given the strength and depth of the Inter squad.

Strength in depth
"The coach may give some time on the pitch to other players," he said. "But even if our biggest stars don't play a full 90 minutes that doesn't mean it will be easy for Rangers. We have more than enough quality to win in Glasgow without a full strength team."

Special atmosphere
"I am expecting a great atmosphere at Ibrox," added the former Real Madrid CF player. "The fans will make a lot of noise and we have to be ready to accept that. Whenever you play away it's a hard atmosphere, but I know that in Scotland it could be even harder than usual."
