Wenger hails 'a great night'

Arsenal FC manager Arsène Wenger insisted the UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Juventus remained in the balance despite unanswered goals from Cesc Fabregas and Thierry Henry at Highbury - and Juve facing suspensions to Mauro Camoranesi, Jonathan Zebina and Patrick Vieira in next week's second leg in Turin.

It was a great night for us. We played well defensively and scored two goals as well. I was very pleased we managed to combine the two. The fluency, speed and technical quality of the side was very high and my only regret is that we did not score one more goal. We have completed half the job and we want to finish it next week. It is 50-50 whether we go through and there is a long way to go before we can think about winning the tournament.

The tie is still alive but we need a big performance in Turin. We played well in the first half until Arsenal scored a goal we should not have conceded, and the second goal could also have been avoided.
