FC Porto midfielder Ibson will be out of action for six weeks after fracturing a bone in his left foot during Sunday's Portuguese SuperLiga action.

Grim discovery
The 22-year-old Brazilian came on as a substitute in the 3-0 win at CF Estrela da Amadora yet lasted just 12 minutes before pulling up with a painful injury. Initial examinations suggested nothing more than bruising, but a scan today revealed he had broken a bone. Ibson will miss Porto's opening three UEFA Champions League Group G games against PFC CSKA Moskva, Arsenal FC and Hamburger SV. Coach Jesualdo Ferreira can take consolation from the fact winger Ricardo Quaresma has recovered from a jaw operation and has been cleared to face CSKA on Wednesday.
