FC Porto have secured the services of Colombian international striker Wason Renteria in a deal that could keep the 21-year-old at the Estádio do Dragão until 2011.
Renteria has joined the Portuguese title-holders for an undisclosed fee from Brazilian side SC Internacional after passing a medical and is expected to be eligible to face Chelsea FC in the UEFA Champions League first knockout round on 21 February and 6 March. Renteria spent 18 months in Brazil, scoring six goals in 35 league games, having started his career with El Boyacá Chicó FC in his homeland. Porto, who lead the Portuguese Liga by five points from SL Benfica, had already signed 24-year-old Argentinian left-back Lucas Mareque during this transfer window.
