Fowler leaving, Leiva joining

Liverpool FC manager Rafael Benítez will allow Robbie Fowler to leave in the summer when he will welcome talented Brazil U20 midfielder Lucas Leiva to Anfield.

Liverpool FC striker Robbie Fowler will leave the UEFA Champions League finalists in the summer after manager Rafael Benítez confirmed he will not be offered a new deal.

Second coming
The 32-year-old, who scored five goals in 32 games for England, has found the net eight times in 29 Premiership outings since rejoining Liverpool from Manchester City FC in January 2006. He originally left the Merseyside club to move to Leeds United AFC for €16m in November 2001.

Famous treble
"Since I've been back, the support I've had from the fans has been tremendous. I just hope I can finish with a few goals and a Champions League win," he said. In total Fowler, who also made 80 league appearances for Manchester City, has played 265 Premiership matches for Liverpool - scoring 128 goals. He lifted the English League Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Cup with the Reds in 2001 and could still feature in this season's UEFA Champions League final against AC Milan in Athens on 23 May.
