Moretto in AEK loan move

AEK Athens FC have confirmed the acquisition of Brazilian goalkeeper Moretto from SL Benfica on a season-long loan with the option to buy next summer.

The 29-year-old began his career in his homeland before joining FC Felgueiras in the summer of 2004. After eight league starts he joined Vitória FC before moving onto Benfica at the end of 2005. Moretto, who played 19 times in the Liga for the Lisbon club, is the latest addition to Lorenzo Serra Ferrer's team after defenders Rodolfo Arruabarrena, Edson Ramos, Federico Azcarate and Geraldo, and midfielders Rivaldo, Charilaos Pappas and Tamandani Nsaliwa. AEK , who finished second in last season's Greek Super League, will participate in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round in August.
