Olympiacos CFP have signed promising goalkeeper Michalis Sifakis on loan for the season from Super League rivals OFI Crete FC, with the option to make the transfer permanent next summer.

Rising talent
The 22-year-old Sifakis could earn a four-year deal with Olympiacos should the Greek champions decide to activate the buy-out clause in his contract with OFI. He has been tracked by the country's bigger clubs ever since making his OFI debut in April 2003, in a 4-0 victory against Egaleo FC. Sifakis has subsequently become a near-constant presence in goal for the Crete club, making 105 league appearances, as well as a regular for the Greece Under-21s. Senior coach Otto Rehhagel has also called him up though he is yet to make his debut.
