Molina back in the frame

José Molina is back in RC Deportivo La Coruña's squad for the first time since his fight against cancer.

Goalkeeper José Francisco Molina is back in RC Deportivo La Coruña's squad for the first time since completing his recovery from cancer.

Out since October
Depor coach Javier Irureta has named the 33-year-old in a 23-man party for Wednesday night's UEFA Champions League Group D match against Juventus FC in Turin. Molina's last appearance for the Galician club was against Real Racing Club Santander on 6 October.

Successful treatment
Eight days after that game, Molina announced he was suffering from testicular cancer and went into temporary retirement. After an intensive course of chemotherapy, he was given the all-clear and returned to training in January. He is likely to watch Wednesday's game from the stand.

Squad of 23
Irureta was absent from training today but his assistant, Francisco Delgado Melo, revealed that Depor would be taking all 23 available players to Turin "to raise our confidence ahead of such an important game".

High stakes
Deportivo are third in Group D, level with second-placed Juventus FC on four points. The last time they travelled with their full squad of players was for last season's Spanish Cup final against Real Madrid CF.
