Raúl González will miss Real Madrid CF's visit to Manchester United FC after surgery for acute appendicitis.
Raúl arrived at Madrid's training ground, Ciudad Deportiva, late yesterday afternoon suffering from severe pains and a fever. After tests, the club's medical staff diagnosed acute appendicitis and the player was taken to the Rúber clinic in the Spanish capital where he was operated on.
The Spanish international striker will be missing for three weeks, according to a statement on the Madrid website. He scored twice in Madrid's 3-1 defeat of United in the first leg at the Santiago Bernabéu.
