Partizan top
Veljko Paunović (40), Lamine Diarra (63) and Miloš Bogunović (89) were on target for Partizan as they defeated FK Napredak 3-1 to make it two wins from two in the nascent Superliga. The Serbian champions travel to Fenerbahçe SK with the tie level at 2-2 after the Turkish club recovered from conceding early goals to Paunović and Bogunović in Belgrade.

Sparta hit four
AC Sparta Praha and SK Slavia Praha also recorded resounding victories last night. Sparta, 2-1 down as they travel to Panathinaikos FC next week, beat SK Dynamo Ceské Budéjovice 4-1 away, while Slavia thrashed FC Bohemians Praha 5-0 to give the club a lift as they look to overturn a 2-0 deficit when ACF Fiorentina arrive in the Czech Republic.

Guimarães denied
Vitória SC took the lead on the stroke of half-time against Vitória FC in their opening Liga fixture but were denied three points in the 82nd minute when Elias cancelled out a 45th-minute opener from Douglas Oliveira. Guimarães will have to be more resolute at FC Basel 1893 on Wednesday as the scores are tied at 0-0 after a tense opening leg in Portugal.

BATE held
FC BATE Borisov are looking to become the first Belarussian team to reach the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, and are well placed to do so after winning 1-0 at PFC Levski Sofia. The Bulgarians are the next visitors to the Gradski Stadium, where BATE needed late goals from Vladimir Rzhevskiy (77) and Pavel Nekhaychik (90) to draw against FC Granit Mikashevichi. Wisła Kraków were also in action, beating GKS Bełchatów 2-1, but their tie against FC Barcelona looks over after they went down 4-0 at Camp Nou.
