Djurgården lose duo

Feyenoord are to bring Johan Elmander back from Djurgårdens IF, who have also sold Mikael Dorsin.

Positive switch
The Swedish striker will return to Rotterdam after scoring eleven goals in 18 matches for the Allsvenskan champions. Feyenoord technical director Rob Baan said: "I can now see a player with improved confidence, who has been scoring regularly in a league of relatively high quality. Johan needed this and we'll benefit from it as well."

Time to go
Elmander will play his last game for Djurgården in the upcoming derby against Hammarby on Monday, and will be gone by the time of their UEFA Champions League first qualifying-round tie against FK Partizan next month. It is likely Feyenoord will give him the chance to show his worth during pre-season training. Should he fail to make an impact he might return to the Swedish side or be sold to another club

Coaches dismayed
The 22-year-old Elmander's departure means the loss of a valuable asset for Djurgården coaches Sören Åkeby and Zoran Lucic. "I didn't know anything about this and it's really disappointing," said Åkeby. "Johan has been a huge success here and has given us a new dimension in the way we play. Now we'll have to sit down and weigh up our alternatives."

Dorsin departure
Elmander is not the only player departing after chairman Bo Lundqvist revealed that 22-year old defender Mikael Dorsin will leave the club on 1 July. Dorsin, a Swedish Under-21 international has signed a three-year contract with French side RC Strasbourg.

'A huge chance'
"Mikael is Djurgården through and through and he's on the brink of the Swedish national side," Lundqvist said. "Of course it is sad when a player like that leaves the club, but we accept that Mikael wants to develop himself as a player and can only wish him good luck." Dorsin himself added: "This is a huge chance that I can't miss out on. I've enjoyed my time at Djurgården and hope to be back one day."
