Igor Gabilondo has agreed a new contract with Raynald Denoueix's Real Sociedad de Fútbol.
The 24-year-old's present deal had been due to expire this summer but he has been rewarded after making 24 first-team appearances in Real's successful 2002/03 campaign. Although he only had eight starts, he came off the bench 16 times and managed his first goal for the club in last month's 2-0 victory at Málaga CF.
The San Sebastian-born Gabilondo, whose new contract includes the option of a fourth season at the Anoeta, will hope to make his European debut for the club next season. Real may have narrowly missed out on the Primera División title but they have qualified for the UEFA Champions League group stage.
