Marc-Antoine Fortuné has become Tony Mowbray's first signing as Celtic FC manager after the Scottish Premier League club agreed a €4.4m fee with AS Nancy-Lorraine for the striker.

Stiff competition
The 27-year-old has agreed to a three-year contract after passing a medical in Glasgow. The UEFA Champions League third qualifying round contenders reportedly had to fight off competition from several English teams to secure the services of Fortuné, who spent the second half of last season on loan at relegated West Bromwich Albion FC where Mowbray was in charge. "This is where I want to be," said the forward. "Having met the people at the club and knowing all about the club's fantastic pedigree and support, this is where I saw my future.

Future
"I am looking forward to the challenge of winning the league title, competing for the cups and playing in Europe." Celtic enter the UEFA Champions League at the third qualifying round. Former FC Utrecht man Fortuné scored four goals in 17 Premier League appearances at the Hawthorns club after 12 strikes from 71 games for Nancy. In addition, Cameroonian midfielder Landry N'Guémo has made the same move, joining the Bhoys on loan with the option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season. The 23-year-old appeared in 33 Ligue 1 games for Nancy last term scoring two goals.
